the laugh
always at the ready
the slightest quip
you start shaking
…with laughter
what’s so funny?
“Hi. How are you?”
“I’m fine.”
“That’s good.”
ha ha ha…
a basic greeting
becomes
uproarious laughter
(I’m not paranoid)
the laughter within
I can hear it
I’m sensitive
(a good laugh)
nothing finer
more soothing
a salve,
a fine wine
to the soul
but really
that laugh…
Notes
