I hate the anger
residing within
my inner cage
I release
the anger
but reach out
at the last
second & pull the
bastard
back in
& comfort him
& nourish him
& feed him,
building his strength
until he bursts
forth & I reach out
& reel him back in
& nourish him
& feed him
& build up his
strength
again and
again and
again…

Notes
- A poem about not being able to let go of the anger within.
- Grammarly’s Tone Detector: Neutral (*****). Neutral? I wasn’t expecting that!
